Adastra, the future machine of intensive computing at CINES has just appeared. It will gradually replace the machine Occigen during the year 2022.

This machine from the manufacturer HPE-Cray will be the spearhead of HPC in France. It will have new ultra powerful GPUs, but also CPUs. A power of more than 70 PFlops/s on an interconnection network that will exceed 200 Gbits/s.

The MI200 GPUs will produce the majority of the machine’s power, but they will be backed up by Genoa CPUs that also promise very high performance.

The official announcement of the machine on the genci website can be found here.
