CRDO pilot project of TGE Adonis

The pilot project TGE-Adonis is to develop and put into operation a pooled solution of sustainability and access to digital oral data. 

The archived data are audio recordings and their direct annotations. Project participants:.

  • Ingest service is CRDO, “Centre de Ressources pour la Description de l’Oral”, consists of a Parisian group (CRDO-Paris) and a center in Aix-en Provence (CRD0-Aix),
  • Archiving service is CINES, “Centre Informatique National de l’Enseignement Supérieur in Montpellier”,
  • Dissemination service is the High Computing centre IN2P3, “Institut national de Physique Nucléaire et de Physique des Particules”. The TGE (Très Grand Equipement) ADONIS is the developer (owner) of the project. Its role is to drive archiving projects for SHS (Social and Human Sciences).

End 2013, more than 770giga were archived.

The objectives of CINES in this project are to adapt the PAC platform to validate new audio and video formats, make the management of relationships between archives (parent/child relationships and updated descriptive metadata ), and pool storage resources with the CC-IN2P3.
